Farmhouse Revival

Greenfield Center, NY

Overlooking acres of open farmland and forest, this late 1800s Greek Revival farmhouse was revived with modern appeal.

Decades of intrusive additions were stripped away from this timber-frame farmhouse to pair it with a tower addition that takes advantage of the valley, forest, and mountain views.

The original farmhouse was preserved as a corner-stay to its contemporary counterpart. Following the natural grade and using a transparent entry passage to join the two forms, the new addition nestled itself nicely into the surrounding landscape, maintaining the quaint and modest street view of the original farmhouse.
